Mario Graßmann – A one-man stump cutting army

Since 1989. Mario Grassmann has worked in the forest industry. In 2008 he kickstarted his stump cutting business when introduced to FSI and their stump cutters for the first time.

In 2008, Mario Graßmann kickstarted his stump cutting business when he was introduced to FSI and their stump cutters for the first time. Since then, he has purchased several FSI machines. Prior to that, Mario Graßmann was no stranger to the forest. His forest adventure started back in 1989, starting off as a lumberjack with a chainsaw as his only tool and later also transporting trees for processing.

Today, Mario Graßmann is fully involved in his one-man business, removing tree stump after tree stump with his selection of FSI stump cutters.

THE FIRST MEETING WITH FSI

Mario was first introduced to FSI and their stump cutters at an exhibition in Germany in 2008. A meeting that turned out to be a win-win situation for both FSI and Mario. Because now, for 15 years, Mario has been using FSI’s machines for his stump cutting work near his home in Hodenhagen, Germany, which is located between Bremen, Hannover, and Hamburg.

“I have five different FSI machines – from the very small 2-wheeled to the big FSI D74 – and I couldn’t be more satisfied with them. I purchased the machines through FSI’s German partner, Vogt, who provide local service when needed. If a complicated situation arises, FSI and their technical team support Vogt, and make sure I’m up and running as fast as possible. I’ve only had positive experiences with FSI, and they know how important it is to have things fixed fast”, says Mario Grassmann.

REMOVING TREE STUMPS WHERE OTHERS CAN'T

As a one-man business, Mario both takes on stump cutting jobs large and small for private customers as well as the local authority and gardening companies within the local district – all year round. To Mario, the reliability, power, and performance of the machines is therefore of great importance.

“One of the main reasons why I chose FSI is because of the strong build and the V-belt drive. The design ensures minimal power loss and I can get the work done as efficiently as possible. Moreover, due to the width of the machines, they are very easy to navigate, even when conditions are tricky or narrow. I did consider other stump cutting machines, but they were never able to live up to the same standards as the FSI ones”, says Mario Graßmann.

When it comes to cutting down trees and removing tree stumps, Mario is certainly an expert, and with the help of FSI, he can get the job done safely
